The club has a great opportunity to save lives, including possibly your own, by hosting a Cardiac Screening Clinic in Ballyea National School on Saturday, June 17 - but we need some more people to register in the coming days.
A certain number of places are required for the event to go ahead, and at the moment we’re short of that.
The screen testing is with a view to promoting a healthier lifestyle and reducing the incidence of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) that would have claimed the life of a victim like former Tyrone All Ireland winner Cormac McAnallen. On average, two young people die every week in Ireland from SADS. This is obviously an ideal chance to pre-empt any such possible distress.
You can register on www.ameds.ie and then click on Online Booking and then enter the clinic code: Ballyea. The fee is €65 but free if you're with Laya Health Insurance.
Screening is scheduled to be conducted in the school that Saturday from 9.30am up to 1pm.
