As the dust settles on our Co. Hurling Final win 2022, it is important to thank those who do trojan work behind the scenes and made the DOUBLE HOME COMING such a memorable event for all. This year our girls (Ballyea/Clarecastle) won the Intermediate County Camogie Final just hours before our Senior Hurlers won back to back Senior County Hurling Titles making it an extra special occasion for the Club.
A lot of planning goes on behind the scenes to ensure that such a wonderful occasion is marked appropriately and thanks to the following for making that happen:
Dave Whelan, Gerry Longe and Donal Kelly who year after year work behind the scenes to ensure the hard work is done at all levels around the Club.
Our two surprise guests, everyone's favourite GAA stalwarts Marty Morrissey who did a fantastic job as MC (as we all partied with Marty) and the delightful Buff Egan for attending and bringing such excitement on the night.
Thanks to Noel McMahon (Kilmaley) for donating the flood lights and to Joe Kelly (Ballynacally) for the lorry.
Clare County Council and in particular John Lynch (Drimeen) for organising the VMS roadsigns.
Brian Gooney (for the Sound System) and Ollie Mullooly (DJ)
Donal Kelly, Pat Hehir, Paddy O'Connell, Eamon Griffin, Brian Kennedy, Martin Hehir, Joe Hehir, Ronan O'Looney & Rory Longe for the bonfires
Ennis Gardaí for the Garda Escort for the bus
Des O'Halloran, Tulla Pipe Band, for leading the team from the bus
Sandra Moylan for organising the food
Catherine Hogan for organising the best decorated house
C & C Executive Travel for providing the bus for the team
Helen & Derrick O'Connor, The Local Inn, Drumquin for hosting the event.
The tremendous work done by all in Ballyea GAA Club in 2022 certainly came to fruition when there was two County Titles raised on Sunday night in the small community of Ballyea.
Well done to all.
